Natural fertility decreases slowly after the age of 30 but this rate of decline increases as a women gets older. By 45 the natural rate of spontaneous pregnancy is almost nil.

Advancing age also increases the risk of early pregnancy loss and chromosomal problems for babies as well as increasing the risk of complications for the mother during pregnancy.

Dr Bopp and his team are there for you from fertility work-up, through treatment, to pregnancy care and delivery.

Today about 15% of couples will experience difficulty achieving pregnancy but sometimes couples with normal fertility are just taking a little longer!

The aim of fertility work-up is to listen and understand the desires and priorities as well as testing and investigating for possible causes of reduced fertility. Sometimes reduced fertility may affect principally one or other partner, occasionally both – regardless our focus is the couple and our aim is to maximise your opportunity to achieve pregnancy.

In today’s modern world, with its career and financial demands, pregnancy is being delayed by many women until their 30’s which means due consideration must be given to early assessment if pregnancy has not been achieved within 12 months for those under 35 and within 6 months for women over 35 years old.

As age increases fertility decreases with fertility problems 5 to 6 times more likely for a woman at 35 than 25.
